“Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?”

It’s been quite some time, since I’d seen this Christmas classic and when I did, I'm pretty sure it was on TV. Unfortunately, it wasn’t one that I had grew up watching, annually. But I thought it’s finally revisit it on Christmas Eve of 2024.

But make no mistake, It’s A Wonderful Life is one of the very best Christmas films ever. It’s regarded as arguably the greatest Christmas film ever and I think that it deserves that honorability. 

Now, is it one of my all-time favorites? Yes, it is now up there, but I think I can put it top 5, or even top 10. I just don’t find it as rewatchable as a couple of my all-time favorites. But it’s definitely in the top 3, most important and iconic.

James Stewart is absolutely incredible as, George Bailey. He is the heart & soul of this story. Without him, this film wasn’t work. I have only seen him in this and Rope, but he has impressed me remarkably both times. I really need to watch, Rear Window & Vertigo. Whenever I’m in the mood for Hitchcock & Stewart, I’ve got two heaters waiting for me.

This is one that I want to continue watching every holiday season, because I feel it’s one of those films, that get better and better, every time you watch it. It has a timeless quality to it, looking phenomenal in black & white, 

I can see why, this is a lot of people who identify this film, either on personal or nostalgic level. It’s a film that will live on forever, being respected by people of all ages. I’m going to try and make it apart of my yearly holiday watches, because it really is one of the realest Christmas stories ever told on film.
