My favourite film forever and ever and ever even if it causes me severe emotional distress every time I watch it <3 I have desperately needed an earth-shattering cry for at least a week now. Being on antidepressants is all fun and games until you’re like Cameron Diaz in The Holiday. I knew only one thing that could force a tear out of me… Chazelle’s magnum opus.
Long story short I just paid £3.49 (I can’t find my DVD!!!) to violently shake and cry and sniffle like a baby throughout the entire epilogue. *Cue Ryan Gosling’s impeccable delivery of “you’re a baby!”* I start gasping for air as soon as Mia and her husband step foot into Seb’s. The ending is a million times worse when you know what’s coming. Soulmate-ism is NO JOKE.
Anyway, romance is dead but at least there’s still hope of making it big. Here’s to the fools who dream I guess.
