Spider-Man:Into the Spider-Verse is without question a fun ride, but it isn't my ride. While Miles Morales may appeal to a number of individuals and represent "their" Spider-Man, Peter Parker is my Spider-Man. I grew up reading comics starting back in the late 80s, and Spider-Man was one of, if not my favorite, so if this was a Peter-centric story I would be all in.
It's a well written movie. It has gorgeous animation, and coupled with the sharp editing it really pops during every scene. The voice acting is top notch, as they have a bevy of A-listers from top to bottom. Everyone is great, but Kathryn Hahn kills it as Doc Ock. So much so that I prefer her Ock over Alfred Molina's. Also, I didn't care for Kingpin's design.
I'm mixed about the soundtrack. It has a nice amount of music I really like, but then a large portion of music I don't, which unfortunately feels like it outweighs the good.
The animation is fresh, crisp, and clean, Miles' story unfortunately just doesn't hit like Peter's does for me.
