For a movie that’s blood-thirsty to its core, gladiator 2 sends a strong and concise message with its final scene. 10,000+ soldiers who were commanded mere moments ago to tear each other’s throats out sheath their swords in hope of a better, more peaceful, tomorrow. This message is especially important considering the time period of the movie’a release not even a month after the 2024 election in America. I think it is just as important, if not more, as it was in the time of Rome for people to forget rage, anger, fear, and loyalty to one man, and embrace peace and camaraderie in order to better the world we live in.
