Through its depiction of the juxtaposition between populism and the corporatism of news media, Network condemns the exploitative pursuit of profit by moral entrepreneurs and their institutional representatives. In the process, the mainstream public conscious is indicted just the same.
Network is certainly a cerebral film, undeniably incorporating aspects of anarcho-syndicalist ideology. As such, this felt very reminiscent, at least to me, of the political work of Chomsky. LOVED that it remained accessible though; the comedy worked well and was particularly effective in tonally balancing the film.
What a feat this movie is, so remarkably prescient. the scene where everyone is hanging out their windows because they are not going to take it anymore! whewwwwwww
