“Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?”

Many times in our lives, especially when we’re growing up and thinking about all the possibilities that are waiting for us, we tend to have these preconceived ideas of what we want to do in our life. So many things we want to do, so many places we want to see. We think we have so many things that we’ve yet to do or see. Our eyes are bigger than our minds. We think we have it all figured out and that anything would be better than the life we have now and the place we live in is just a place we’ll look back on when we’re living it up large and living our best life.

And then the years pass, the days go by, and every once in a while you start to think to yourself, “How am I still stuck in this old town I grew up in?”. You start seeing all these people you grew up with, all your friends you talked about all these dreams to start telling you about all these great things they’re doing and how they’re moving away and starting their lives, yet you’re not even close to where you thought you’d be. And then you start to despise where you grew up, you start to hate where you are and all you want to do is find some way to get out and really start living your life how you’ve always dreamed of. But then you have a moment or maybe a couple of moments that remind you of something very important: There is beauty to be found in all of this. 

It’s A Wonderful Life means so much to me because it reminds me and instills in me that there is always beauty to be found in the places, people, and things that we may not think much of. Just because you aren’t traveling the world, achieving all these great things, making all this money, and living your dream life; It doesn’t mean it isn’t a life that you should throw away. 

Just because you aren’t as accomplished or as fortunate as those around you, doesn’t make your life any less meaningful or worthwhile than those you compare yourself to. You are surrounded by people who love you for who you are. You have people that want to see you succeed and be truly happy no matter your current situation. You are blessed in ways you often forget about because you spend so much time thinking about how much you don’t have at this current moment. All the things you look down upon in your life are things that many people would be lucky to have. You may not realize it all the time but it really is a wonderful life we live if we just choose to be thankful for it. 

I hope everyone reading this has a Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is doing well and that you are all spending time with family or whoever you hold closest to your heart. I truly appreciate everyone who follows me, takes the time to read these very lengthy reviews of mine, and leaves a kind message. This is one of the things that really makes me happy and I’m so happy that even 10 of you see these and enjoy them. Merry Christmas everyone! :)
