just got home from the theatre watching this. all i can say is WOW. certainly not my favorite of 2022, but most definitely one of the best. highly deserved nominations, although Paul Dano was absolutely SNUBBED, i loved his performance so, so much. i’m not really sure if it will deserve the best picture award, and of course that will be coming in March, but i do hope that Spielberg wins for best director because this is one of the most beautifully shot and well written movies to come from him
knowing that it was based partially on his life and the fact that i grew up with his movies probably gives me some bias, but seriously, it is just beautiful. i’ll be buying a physical copy ASAP. i just literally haven’t stopped thinking about it since i left, i laughed, i cried, and i saw a fantastic movie today
The Fabelmans is beautiful, and deserves every bit of praise it got. i don’t think it’s fair to call it a box office bomb though, especially with the critical reception but that’s just me 🤷♀️
