saw this in a full IMAX theater the way Daddy Nolan intended
very impressive, but still suffers from the usual Nolan shit, bad audio mixing, long complicated dialogue, and overstaying its welcome with the length. but still, incredible effects and Nolan’s idea and vision is very well executed, very much a character study of J. Robert Oppenheimer rather than a full on war movie about the Manhattan Project
the performances here are incredible, Cillian Murphy and Matt Damon are great but i really believe that Robert Downey Jr. is the real star here, really glad he’s started to do more dramatic roles after retiring from Marvel. not better than Barbie (2023) tho, i’d rather see that again than watch this again, i do however feel like this’ll be the movie reeling in the Oscars. just a good movie, but nothing incredible, doesn’t come close to some of Nolan’s other work
i thought Emily Blunt was Rachel Weisz the entire movie until i saw her name in the credits 😭😭😭
