feels kind of unfair to label this as a christmas movie since christmas isn’t truly part of the film until the last 30 minutes but i digress. beautifully directed, one of the greatest performances ive ever seen from the classic hollywood era, and a wonderful message make It’s A Wonderful Life something that stands the test of time
i see this as a very uplifting film, George is on the verge of suicide because life seems to be crumbling down and he even has a nervous breakdown in front of his family, but when he truly realizes how much he’s loved and how he’s helped others, he also realizes how much the people in his life need him, it’s so beautiful, i was sobbing near the end of it all
life truly is wonderful, and we should all try and live it to the best of our ability, even if things seem hopeless, we can remember that someone out there loves us, whether it be God, a close friend, your family, your pet, whatever. we just need to remember who we are, and remember how privileged of a life this can be and not lose grip on who we are
happy holidays, whatever you do or do not celebrate, try to spread a little more positivity going into the new year. i love you all
