It’s not as good as its marketing. It’s better. A masterpiece that I’ll be thinking about for a long time along with Nicolas Cage’s performance. It’s dirty, grating, shocking…a movie that shouldn’t work in many ways but does under Perkins’ masterful direction. I just watched an instant classic of horror cinema.
