It was beautiful. You think halfway through that you’re watching just another iteration of the “robot learns how to love” trope, but it really does go deeper than that and pierces the heart many a times. Enough twists and turns to make the story dynamic but not too many to convolute the plot. It gets silly without being overly goofy, an aspect that must relieve the parents who’ll be watching with their kids. I’d say a truly brilliant animated film. Beneath all the talk of his sexiness and hot dad energy (justifiable I may add), Pedro Pascal is building such a great TV and movie resume. Especially for an actor who was a relatively late bloomer.
