easiest.. EASIEST five stars i will ever give.
there’s something so gentle, so loving, so comforting about this film. it feels like a warm hug and i adore it.
the animation is fucking stunning, every single frame feels like a painting. it is utterly gorgeous. the environment feels so inviting as you explore the expanse of the wilderness with the characters. roz’s design is so simple but it perfectly encapsulates every single emotion they feel throughout the film. paired with lupita n’yongo’s voice acting.. oh my god.
kit connor does such an incredible fucking job as the gosling. he is so so so perfect in this role and pedro pascal,, my man. he was sooooo good. he played the snarky yet gentle demeanour of fink so damn well. and obviously i’ve gotta mention matt berry because he made me chuckle every time he spoke (the power of laszlo cravensworth i tell you).
dreamworks has made the best animated film this year and hope so badly that they get their oscar for this.
