The Infernal Cakewalk feels like a talent show in hell in which all participants do their best to entertain the audience. This is not a story in the true sense of the word, but individual dancers or groups in a grotto show their performances, sometimes with an interesting use of fire and flying limbs.
The dance of the devil, looking like a deformed insect man on a cake forms the core of this short film by Georges Méliès, underpinned by playful, harmonious music.
