There he is again, that goddamn doll on his squeaky tricycle. Once those eyes start glowing you know what's going to happen. Time to fess up, people! Or else. Number 8 in the franchise and it's not a fresh new start, a move into a different direction or something like that, nope, it turns out to be just another episode with more story, twists and turns than there are bloody lessons. Bad news for me, because I'm only in it for the games. I don't care who's guilty or not, who's behind all of it, all I want to see is the suffering of ugly characters in cruel traps and Tobin Bell being an icy motherfucker. The bits on the torture farm early on are promising, the bad whodunit that eventually starts to dominate the film is not for me. It even chokes most of the fun out of the games later on. And the head splitter? I thought we were done with this sort of flagrant CGI shit.
