denzel washington is our greatest actor living or dead. honestly not one bad performance in this movie. paul obviously built his performance off russell crowe's in the og but i think he puts enough of his own swag into it. honestly nice to see him in such a different role bein sexy taking off his shirt growling and yelling. need dat. need everybody.
joseph quinn was excellent in his role. just absolutely amazing. he was unrecognizable, forgot it was even him at times. thank god he got out of stranger things.
thought pedro was good. again i think hes always best as a side character rather than a main and i think his big scene where he spends 20 seconds as the father that stepped up is his best. NEEDDAT. wanting an oscar nomination for #reasons but i dont want him to win. that statue should be denzels.
some parts looked bad, cgi animals were often ugly and we lingered on them standing still too long to not notice. occasionally the battle scenes, while well choreographed, were ugly and bland to look at when we werent focused on one-on-ones.
just remembered i didnt like the 10 minute speedrun fridging ((ik its ridley so its like eh what r ya gonna do, but still. im taking half a star for that)) alsooooo i understand the flashbacks are because it's been 20 years since og gladiator but dude we got who lucius was. i promise we got it, relax.
truthfully, this movie is good, solid. if you like the original i imagine youd like this too. just perfectly solid movies you get some enjoyment out.
