Why should I care about anything happening on screen if the movie doesn't care either? This franchise just seems forced to continue just for merch sales, but at least something like Ninjago does new and impactful stuff with it's characters that gives it a reason to continue. This just- does random stuff for the sake of it. To fill up the runtime to be considered a movie. The only people who seem actually passionate for this other then the animatiors. Only people who'll actually enjoy it are kids and the type of people who try to defend a piece of media with the "you just can't have fun" argument, which like, I can have fun with something well written too! That isn't an excuse for people making the movie to be lazy, why should we settle for mediocrity from a billion dollar juggernout? I would understand if it was like an early point of a TV show where they're still trying to find their place, but this is the 6th movie installment of a franchise that isn't seeming to stop anytime soon, what are you really left with for the future outside of random minion schenanigans? We know they don't want to age up the kids, do they just... introduce new family members till the sun blows up? Because it sure does seem like that.
Anyways, sorry for rambling, I just felt like I needed to vent about the pure emptiness this left me with. Keep yourself safe.
