August 16th, 2024. What a Lovely Day - to screen this Modern-Day Classic! The over-whelming response to George Miller's film (as part of his Mad Max universe) is due in part because of the theatrical experience. It's a one-of-a-kind, old-school, feeling of - WOW. There's really no reason for this film to be a stone-cold classic - but it is, without a doubt. 30 years between films? Was anyone begging for another Mad Max film? Well, George knew what he was doing. Despite his age, the treacherous filming conditions, the stunts and gruelling shoot days he was able to release one of the 21st Centuries best films; not just action or sci-fi, or "genre" but simply, film in general. It's an experience and an even better one on a big screen with BIG sound - see it at the Hyland Cinema August 16th!
