Good evening and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
Watched Impact's Knockouts Knockdown 2021. Lets just get into it.
We open with a tribute to Daffney who had committed suicide not too long before this match. Must have looked odd standing for the 21 bell salute in my office. Don't care.
So we have a tourney for a future Knockouts Title shot. Round one is Rachel Ellring vs. Lady Frost. During the Match they are trading stiff chops and the fans chant "one more time". Mickey James, who is announcing says "the fans are cheering for your chest to be caved in". We always cheer for your chest Mickey. Mickey and Veda make for not wonderful commentators. Still a solid match and I love how Rachel Ellring doesn't do the standard whip by the arm, but grabs her by the back of their heads. Ellring wins via Boss Woman Slam.
SHHHHH It's Chelsea Green vs. Renee Michelle. Technically sound enough, but kinda slow. Not really picking up any pace. Green wins with I'm Prettier.
Mercedes Martinez vs. Undead Brandi Lauren. Basically a glorified Squash for Martinez. wins with the OG Drop.
Jamie Senegal vs. Tasha Steelz. I thought for sure that Senegal had this one being her close relationship with Daffeny, but nope. This was the best of the first rounds. Solid match and Steelz wins with Blackout Bomb.
Deonna Parazzo vs. Slamovitch. Basically Mickey James picked this match to weaken Parazzo for their title match at the next event. Oh Parazzo, one of the best ever. She is amazing. Mickey James said she was gonna make Parazzo humble... yes please. Amazing high impact well paced match, and Parazzo wins with the Venus De Milo.
Martinez vs. Ellring. Vicious and competitive. Martinez wins with a leg trapped guillotine choke
Steelz vs. SHHHHHHH It's Chelsea Green. A few awkward timing movments, the match is fine and Steelz wins with a frog splash.
Christy Hemme comes out and introduces Awesome Kong as the newest member of the Impact HoF. I don't normally care for these inductions, but it was nice to hear the fans and hear Kong do her Daffney tribute.
The Monsters Ball FAtal 4 Way. Goth Kimber Lee, Animal Cannibal Savannah Evans, Alisha Edwards for some reason, and the Juggernaut Jordaynne Grace. I never like the "monster's ball" stip, it feels really stupid most of the time. But this is a nice brutal match and hard to watch when Grace hits Kimber with the Muscle Buster onto the thumbtacks and fuck that is sick. Edwards has a kendo stick wrapped in barb wire bedazzled to match her. Evans wins a Full Nelson Slam onto Thumbtacks on Alisha.
Finals in the tourney. Steelz vs. Martinez. Solid match where Martienz wins with the OG Drop.
We do a hype package about mental health and considering Pro Wrestling is rife with mental health and substance abuse, it's nice to see. #tagmein
And the Main Event, The Influence Tanelle Dashwood and Madison Rayne with Kaleb with a K vs. Decay Jessica Havok and Rosemary with Crazzy Steve and Black Tarus. I love how Kaleb with a K has a neck brace that matches The Influence's ring gear. And during the match The Influence stop so Kaleb with a K can take photos for their Insta. So fun, though Mickey James and Veda Scott call them selfies, but they are not taken by theirseleves so they are not really selfies are they? Also James and Scott make a few biting notes about how out of their League The Influence is, but like Dashwood is a world seasoned athlete and Rayne is what, a 3 time Knockouts Champ. Put some respect on them. A fantastic match worthy of the ME status and Decay win with this really lame looking Russian Leg Sweep/Spear combo. Still, great match.
