What a wonderful, weird movie. This private detective story is part screwball comedy, part New Hollywood, and pure chaos. It starts out in a hurry and then just keeps going. It would be disorienting if it weren’t for the sharp dialogue and the incredible cast. Ben Gazzara is the standout, but he’s surrounded by a cornucopia of colorful characters. Patti Hansen is so cool, Colleen Camp is enchanting, and Audrey Hepburn is simply marvelous. And then there’s Dorothy Stratten, who is so mesmerizing you actually believe she would completely dumbstruck John Ritter.
