Fascinating take on the serial killer genre. Al Pacino is a burnt out cop chasing a killer of men, and falls in love with suspect Ellen Barkin, turning the proceedings into a strange rumination on trust in relationships and gender dynamics. It’s at times achingly human, and when the reveal finally happens it almost feels unnecessary or distracting.
