Tahar Rahim delivers one of the greatest performances of the 21st century in this coming-of-age story set in a French prison. The way his body language shifts over time tells a story in and of itself, adding a layer of humanity to a harsh story of violence, power, and identity. The filmmaking here from Jacques Audiard is impeccable, but Rahim is the real star.
