What Biblical story would you like to see faithfully adapted into a movie?
Bible movies don't exactly have the greatest reputation, there are certainly highlights, such as The Prince of Egypt or Passion of the Christ. The Miracle Maker is one that a lot more people need to see, it's a stop motion film about the life of Christ, and it's a work of art. But despite these exceptions, Bible movies are usually poorly made, with bad acting, uninspired filmmaking, and they always come across as if they're trying to beat the viewer over the head with the message instead of letting epic historical events speak for themselves. On the flip side, you have secular filmmakers making movies based on the Bible, who alter the narrative to the point where it's unrecognizable, e.g Darren Aronofsky's Noah and Ridley Scott's Exodus, they're very well made movies technically, but thematically they spit on the biblical narrative.
What if we could have it both ways? What if we could have biblical movies that are adapted faithfully, while also being well made, artistically distinct, creative endeavors? If you could pick a story from the Bible to adapt into a movie, that was both faithful to the original story, while also being well made, what would it be?
