Fantastic choreography, brilliant performances from Fala Chen and the GOAT Tony Leung, and off the charts excitement for what's next to come for Shang-Chi and the MCU. The Eternals, Hawkeye, NWH, all left for 2021.
I'm not going to say the cast and crew hit the ground running on all facets this time around, because they didn't. Some scenes were a bit cringey and performances were inconsistent from the less experienced actors. I also felt the editing was at times off and messed with the flow of the film. One thing I and most others will say they knocked out of the park was the choreography. Easily top 2 in the MCU and debatably high relative to any Hollywood film. The bus scene and Macau fight were brilliant (gotta love the knife flips vs. Death Dealer).
One thing to note is that this didn't fall too far into the MCU formula. I honestly did not feel the quipiness or absolute beating down of jokes that you can sometimes feel in other films (Black Widow fell victim to this a decent amount). The 3rd act is not the best, but Tony Leung redeems many moments during.
The beginning of many theater visits I hope. Candyman or The Card Counter next I would think. Maybe Free Guy or Venom 2 depending on what the consensus among my friends is.
