Gen Zs basing their whole identity on Ryan Gosling nowadays after watching drive or Lars and the real girl, I'm annoyed why those brats haven't watched this, also I'm glad they didn't or else they would've massacred this beautiful film. My kinda movie, loved it from start till the end.
Ryan Gosling is a brilliant actor and with the addition of a lovely and gradually settling plot this was an amazing movie to watch. There is a lot more than what's happening on the screen. I loved the ending as well as it sets a lovely end to what the movie actually stands for.
Also, about the name, didn't really understand what it stood for as I didn't know the word's meaning tbh. After the movie i searched its meaning, which is
HALF NELSON' IS A WRESTLING MOVE WHICH IS AN IMMOBILIZING HOLD THAT IS DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO ESCAPE.
and then it finally hit me. Damn.
