A coming of age story that gives us valued insight into the informative years of one of America’s most prolific and beloved filmmakers.
I was particularly fascinated by the large as life portrayal of Spielberg’s enigmatic mother and the influential role she played in the development of his creative talent and his love for making movies. I was also intrigued by Spielberg’s own paradoxical journey through the depths of his fears and the heights of his emboldened courage as he traversed the breakup of his family and coped with the rampant racism in his high school.
A joy to share this with my favourite movie companion Brent in my first theatre viewing since COVID and the movie festival Brent and I attended together in Asheville NC just before COVID broke.
