Massimo Troisi (Mario) literally gave his life to this film. He needed a heart transplant but he said "no way I'm making this film with somebody else's heart" He died as the film wrapped shooting. This was his gift to cinema.
a nice, sweet Christmas film that is really deep down a father-son story. The way everybody went nuts over it online I was expecting for some crazy shit to happen, some monster to show up at the campus, serial killer Santa Claus or something like that. I'm glad it was just a nice film with normal people and a normal story. More movies like this!!!
This film needs to be studied. Yes, it's only two hours, but it's written (in terms of pace) and edited so well that you never for a moment get bored, lost or wonder how much is left. I did it maybe once, surprised and sad that I had only 20 more minutes to go. Of course the story takes you in like not many non-fiction movies can, but I haven't read the book, so I can't really say how good…
The idea that there was a MARTIN SCORSESE film that I had just simply ignored and not bothered to even think about watching, and the fact that it was so good, kills me completely. I keep doing this stuff with a lot of directors. What's wrong with me??
One of the best movies I've ever seen and I can't believe I waited this long to watch it. 3 hours that felt not enough; somebody please tell me there's a director's cut that's 6 hours or something. It also feels so rewatchable and that's insane
this and Black Swan share like half a concept and two shots in common but people have to bitch about it cause we're going through the "bitching era" and because EVERYONE knows Aronofsky is a plagiarizing asshole, of course We must say that and show people that we know too.
oh, the review, right. Perfect Blue is near perfect.
