This is definitely one of the most enjoyable biopics of them all, at times it really does feel like Marty is glamorizing Jordan Belfort but then also it’s almost very clear he isn’t but idk man just showing the real Jordan Belfort at the end kinda didn’t sit right with me if I’m being honest.
But nonetheless this film is really great i was not bored at all through this film just every scene is so fucking funny or just something else that will keep you engaged, that one scene where Jordan takes Lemmon 714 just had me dying of laughter the whole time. Honestly some of the scenes that are uncomfortable are kinda goofy.
The acting in this film is phenomenal I think this is Leonardo DiCaprio’s second best performance that reminds me I should do a list based off his performances hmm putting that in the notes for sure ✍️. But of course the great Margot Robbie in this film is very phenomenal as she is in almost every movie a lot of the stuff she does in this film is very risky but hey she did her thing. The side roles too man I mean Jonah hill with probably his most notable performance I’ve seen so far ??? Jon bernthal as well almost always great !
This films message is obviously about personal transformation and the human side of corruption, I mean I kept on thinking to myself it’s insane how this started all with one man and of course it’s Matthew fucking Mcconaughey that started it all jokes aside, it’s honestly very scary how one human could just start a whole group or company of corruption and just be a flat out fucking villain and people will look at him/her as a god because they guided them to get money or whatever it is.
Overall such a fantastic film from the great Martin Scorsese obviously filmbros and cinephiles will continue to worship him rightfully so, eww I just used filmbro unironically I gotta go wash this filth off of me after saying that. (I hate the word film bro)
