no matter the life you live, whether it's one full of strife and doubt or one where you're happy with what you've become, there's always going to be those moments where you wonder what could've been
if you turned back time, to when you could've told someone what you truly felt about them, or to not make that decision to begin with. to not make a decision when you did, or make that choice when you hesitated
all these what-if's, all these maybes, all these floating possibilities that it could be so much better for you if you just did one thing different
but you'll never be able to make that. and that weight will sink with you into the cold, dead earth. and live with you in both your brightest memories and your darkest nightmares. lingering phantom pains from another life, another you, that can never be truly captured, but whose impact is felt so severely all the same
it stings to experience something that captures that so keenly, but it's comforting on some level. to know that you're not alone in those regrets
