Furiosa is so fucking insane and the smile that ran across my face for 2.5 hours straight has left my cheeks hurting. It’s so much fun, it’s so massive, it’s surprisingly hilarious. An “origin” story for the ages. I love Fury Road with all my heart. Truly one of my 5 favorite films ever. Never in a million years did I think Furiosa would live up to the insanity of its predecessor and leave me with something as unforgettable. I am in love. A coming-of-age core masked as a fueled-up post-apocalyptic revenge thriller, undeniable in scale. George Miller is an absolute mad man. There are sequences here that damn near rival Fury Roads’ Storm is Coming and Brothers in Arms. He’s playing around with set pieces at an insane level. A level only Denis and Chris are touching right now. Anya is superb. She is so fucking good and I’m not sure this movies narrative would’ve been as impactful had she not been cast as Furiosa. She IS Furiosa and this is HER story. Hemsworth is giving the best performance of his career without a shred of doubt. Would love to see awards season love. I need him in more films where he can just let his insane personality fly and truly show us the range he’s capable of.
