Saw this as this week’s midnight movie at the Music Box.
So enormously grateful I had the chance to see this on 35mm on the big screen. The dust storm scene is just not the same thing on a laptop or even television. Miller’s action is incredible, kinetic, graceful, ludicrous, passionate, and some of the best ever filmed. This movie went toe-to-toe with movie history’s heavyweights and knocked the living daylights out of them straight from its premiere.
It’s tempting to see the legal troubles Miller has launched over the financials of this movie as a massive bummer that will likely prevent any more sequels from this mastermind, but honestly I don’t know if there could ever be anything that would top Fury Road.
