Where do I start...
To say that this movie left me confused is an understatement. I feel like this will definitely need a rewatch, as I didn't understand much upon my first viewing.
I'm gonna be honest, most of this movie is quite boring (I'm sorry, slow-paced). There are a few amazing scenes, but overall I would agree that this would have made for a much more interesting watch had it been a short film, with a faster arrival to its conclusion. What's the conclusion? Still haven't figured that out yet.
Most of its themes are left to interpretation, which makes for a great discussion. In my opinion, I see it as a commentary on self-discovery, with themes of womanhood and humanism (am I using the right word?). The ending left me with a sense of both anger and confusion, as well as some sadness, which I didn't mind.
As for technical aspects, I liked ScarJo's acting. You can really feel the disconnect of her having only two emotions, confusion and fear. Her eyes did a wonderful job of showing us how she feels. I found out most of the van scenes were improvised and used hidden cameras, which is pretty fucking cool if you ask me.
I recommend it, as long as you don't set yourself up with high expectations. Be ready to be confused as hell and wanna google the meaning of it.
Oh also ScarJo gets naked a lot.
