Well, well, well Mr. Chazelle. So you made Whiplash, which was nearly flawless, and everybody loved (4real my drummer friend swears on having sex to the finale, just saying), and then he followed his true passion: MUSICALS. And everyone was like: Really? Fucking Musicals? But then, the first reports from the movie festivals came in and the cool people knew whats up.
And know we're here. 14 (You did not hear wrong, FOURTEEN) Academy Award Nominations, everybody talking, critics jacking off onto each other to it and me just sitting here and thinking: Well deserved.
The movie is great, it's catchy, beautifully filmed, the lead actors in applaudable performances.
So yeah, the hype is kinda justified and the movie is good.
