For a while when I was watching it, I put Scream 4 on the same level as Scream 2, but once the final twist with Ghostface was revealed, I felt like this one became the better film. The second might've had more iconic moments, but I feel like this one juggled the old and new characters just as well, brings tons of gore to the table, has a lot of solid humor, and great commentary. And, unlike in Scream 3, where the subject of trilogies was being poorly used, Scream 4 more effectively tackles the themes of reboots, all while blending its commentary about the Internet and social media that still feels relevant even if the technology doesn't. All in all, it's a great return to form for the franchise, and an awesome way to kick off the spooky month of October!
