With the first 3 movies being a collective certified banger trilogy, I was a little nervous going into Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, especially when you factor in the departure of Andy Serkis as Caesar, the change in director and its setting featuring a huge time jump but I am absolutely ecstatic to be able to put that baby to bed and say that Wes Ball fucking rocked this rendering. I won’t go so far as to say that it triumphs over its previous iterations, that’s a tall task that even the most determined of men would find challenging but what it does do is it breathes even more life into this already vivacious franchise and given me hope that it can continue to thrive. I can’t stress enough how much of a good thing this is because apparently we have 8 more of these movies to go.
