Enjoyed this more than watching it in theaters, as the animation didn’t make me nauseous this time around. When this movie is fun, it’s really fun. I loved the scenes most between Miles and the older, more tired Peter Parker, as the film’s infectious energy and self-awareness comes most to the forefront during these scenes.
I do still think, though, that Spider-Verse starts to lose steam right around the point where the multiple Spider-Men come in, after Gwen. I almost wish they had stuck with a smaller group, or at least expanded on each of those characters a bit more. From here through to the end, the film just feels a bit rushed, and though the ending is definitely full of solid action, it still just feels a bit underwhelming by the time it ends.
I do still like much of Spider-Verse, and feel that there is endless potential with this universe, but I hope next time around they slow things down just a bit.
