This is the type of movie you experience once in a generation. And to see it on IMAX — although not the sought after 70mm — was a treat!
The pacing Nolan opted for is bold. You have little time to breathe or process the beats of act one. They’re thrown at you with the rush of a movie that has no time to waste; Oppenheimer has a story to tell as its characters and world race toward a goal.
It makes the slowness after the test even more impactful. You’re left to think about the horrors that just happened, the ones that have yet to be.
It’s chilling both as a viewer and, well, as a human being. It sits with you. It’s still here with me, three days later.
