Hiroshi Negishi's OVA, Judge, is an interesting work that presents two simultaneous cases in which sinners are judged through a trial of darkness. Although the OVA is short, it manages to create a dark and mysterious atmosphere that kept me hooked from the beginning.
I liked how the two cases were presented, although I must admit that the first case gave me more satisfaction due to the true betrayal that was committed. On the other hand, the second case seemed…

"Blood for Dracula" is a horror film that offers a unique and fascinating take on the iconic character of Dracula. In this version, the Count is not the imposing and dehumanized being we are used to seeing. Instead, he is presented to us as a more humanized, even pitiful being, who desperately seeks to find virgin blood to survive, which leads us to a new concept where he could only live on virgin blood, an interesting but unfortunate concept for…

Alexander Petrov’s “The Mermaid” (1997) is a short film that took my breath away. The technique used – hand painting on glass – is truly unique and makes each scene look like a moving piece of art.
I did some research on the technique and was amazed at the eloquence and work that was put into each scene. The images look like they are straight out of a museum, where art comes to life. The artistic animation is fluid and…

"I recently watched the film 'Signal 100', a Japanese production that explores themes of hypnosis and mind control in a school setting. As a fan of films of this style, I was excited to see how the plot would play out.
Although the film has a unique charm and some truly disturbing moments, I felt that something was missing from the narrative. After reading the manga that the film is based on, I realized that the teacher's story is much…

It was like seeing Final Destination and the Triangle combined in a single movie in an Asian version. It was a good trip, I loved all the twists.

a long time ago on a television channel they were showing this movie, I only saw half of it and I never knew what movie it was, until last night I found it and saw it, really now seeing it from a non-adolescent perspective it seemed more uncomfortable than cool taking into account that before tumblr, lana del rey, and effy from skins were the standard for my adolescence, however I must emphasize that French movies always have a charm…

I have to admit that it has unique animations with a remarkable style and despite the fact that there are few episodes, they are good enough to leave an impact.

Smallpox tale, it begins with a short film where the tonality goes in blue colors with a young man being blindfolded in which we can see a kind of snail slowly climbing the screen, at first it is somewhat uncomfortable to see but then we are shown new images where sometimes the people lack color but their surroundings, I found it interesting although it was difficult for me to figure out what the short film was about, as it is not a story with a linear narrative or perhaps because of the lack of a script or an omniscient voice that would divide the facts.

"Don't you know that absolute power leads to ultimate peace?"
In Afro Samurai I found that time flew by, the plot absorbs you in this world in the characters, in the fight that Afro faces to achieve his great goal leaving havoc in his personality and his way of life, if I have to highlight the action scenes are so well choreographed that it looks so fluid to look at, it is not a pile of men falling, but each…

Serial Experiments Lain, is and will be absolutely an anime very ahead of its time, and also alludes to a current digital concept based on speculations of the past about technological advances and their establishment in society and how human beings have not developed with the digital concept. The series anticipated technological advances in reference to virtual reality, but at the same time delved into deeper themes such as identity within a digital world and how it seems that your…

The film is absolutely beautiful in several aspects, highlighting the fluid animation and a range of vibrant colors that differentiates each character and scene. I really liked the soundtrack, although sometimes there was a long silence of dialogue to give way to around 5 minutes where the main theme was heard. The lack of dialogue seemed to me to be an important factor in why the relationship between the prince and the unicorn was not deepened, Apart from that, I loved everything, but what captivated me the most was how wonderful the animation of the unicorn was, its colors and its delicacy.
