• Smallpox Tale

    Smallpox Tale

    ★★½

Smallpox tale, it begins with a short film where the tonality goes in blue colors with a young man being blindfolded in which we can see a kind of snail slowly climbing the screen, at first it is somewhat uncomfortable to see but then we are shown new images where sometimes the people lack color but their surroundings, I found it interesting although it was difficult for me to figure out what the short film was about, as it is not a story with a linear narrative or perhaps because of the lack of a script or an omniscient voice that would divide the facts.

  • Afro Samurai

    Afro Samurai

    ★★★★

"Don't you know that absolute power leads to ultimate peace?"

In Afro Samurai I found that time flew by, the plot absorbs you in this world in the characters, in the fight that Afro faces to achieve his great goal leaving havoc in his personality and his way of life, if I have to highlight the action scenes are so well choreographed that it looks so fluid to look at, it is not a pile of men falling, but each…

  • Serial Experiments Lain

    Serial Experiments Lain

    ★★★★★

Serial Experiments Lain, is and will be absolutely an anime very ahead of its time, and also alludes to a current digital concept based on speculations of the past about technological advances and their establishment in society and how human beings have not developed with the digital concept. The series anticipated technological advances in reference to virtual reality, but at the same time delved into deeper themes such as identity within a digital world and how it seems that your…

  • The Last Unicorn

    The Last Unicorn

    ★★★½

The film is absolutely beautiful in several aspects, highlighting the fluid animation and a range of vibrant colors that differentiates each character and scene. I really liked the soundtrack, although sometimes there was a long silence of dialogue to give way to around 5 minutes where the main theme was heard. The lack of dialogue seemed to me to be an important factor in why the relationship between the prince and the unicorn was not deepened, Apart from that, I loved everything, but what captivated me the most was how wonderful the animation of the unicorn was, its colors and its delicacy.

  • Stalker

    Stalker

    ★★★★★

Stalker is a rather complex film to understand if you are looking for something to see that is superficial you must keep in mind that the concept requires a lot of analysis, the characters' monologues are bathed in rich philosophical thoughts of life, where the nature of human desires is questioned, and what the subconscious believes to have hidden. From the beginning the three characters demonstrate the phases of skepticism, on the one hand the stalker is the one who…

  • Chicken Run

    Chicken Run

    ★★★

I'll be a free or dead chicken

I was fascinated, it was really very good, it has everything that someone in adulthood but with a child's taste would enjoy.

  • All of Us Are Dead

    All of Us Are Dead

    ★★★½

It took me a long time to finish this drama, I started it a long time ago but never finished it, now I have watched it again from beginning to end.

Koreans in general have a very well structured concept of zombies as seen in other movies, I definitely liked this one a lot, it has a balance between the adrenaline-pumping action of fighting zombies in a school (personally I think it's something we all fantasize about at some point),…

  • The Astronomer's Dream

    The Astronomer's Dream

    ★★½

I had seen a fragment of this short film before, I didn't imagine I would find it by chance, I gave it a chance, it was really interesting to see the dreams of an astronomer, it seemed like a funny situation but each scene had a fantastical essence.

  • The Apple Incident

    The Apple Incident

    ★★

The sound at first seems somewhat annoying, with a constant shrill squeak, but after a while it seems to mark a rhythm with the events. I want to think that in my opinion the apples come from a biblical meaning as the temptation of Eve, which is why after eating part of it they began to carry the apples on their heads as a reminder of some kind of "sin" they must bear.

  • Joy Street

    Joy Street

    ★★½

an interesting and colorful way to represent the journey of loneliness, depression, intrusive thoughts and hallucination.

  • Suicide Club

    Suicide Club

    ★★★

A very strong start, blood from the first moment, it's like a satire, I don't really know if it's horror but it is a solid cult film, I had my suspicions about who was plotting the whole plan regarding the suicides and everyone indicated that it was the girls' musical group, I thought it was something like a subliminal message that induced them to do it, but in the end I didn't really understand who it really was.
