The atmosphere, the eerieness, the score and the acting was just beautiful. I wouldn't expect anything less from a Robert Eggers film.
Lily-Rose Depp delivers an amazing performance, like she's actually unreal. Nicholas Hoult was also phenomenonal. Whoever was in charge of casting needs a raise!!
I have to admit I wasn't much of a fan of The Lighthouse or The Witch. They are great films, they're just lacking in something. It's like he chooses style over substance sometimes.
But with Nosferatu it's different, I think he needed a longer running time to really build up the story. Compared to his other films
(excluding the northman because I haven't seen it yet)
which to me had very anti-climatic endings, Nosferatu is a ride from start to finish and I can't think of anything bad to say about the film.
This is definitely his best film to date, can't wait to see what fucked up film he makes next!!
