3rd time watching, maybe i’m alone in this but i’m a big fan of stuff that explores how media and icons change over time, with culture, and with medium, while having fun with it and integrating that idea seamlessly into the story and the roles of the characters/their developments while also taking full advantage of the medium it’s in WHILE simulating other mediums (like wow the way they make the scene where miles sees green goblin and peter fight look like one of those 4d rollercoasters, they animated peter b and miles out of sync on different 2s) (and isn’t it f*cking cool how each frame has no blur and you could pause it at any time to get something that looks like a comic panel) (i just find it really neat the way they weave spidersense into miles’ thoughts being so loud you can see his thoughts as text bubbles) (and a lot more stuff that adapts spider-man into a literal “comic-book” movie like this movie is just a cool ass adaptation of not just a comic book but the idea of spider-man to an animated movie)
Yeah I’m not sure it’s some mind-blowing thought-provoking story, some stuff I thought needed work in the story, but I am pretty sure this is one of the coolest animated movies of all time
