Presumed Innocent is a solid courtroom drama that creates an atmosphere of suspense in every scene, but I think it needed a better screenplay and with a first act that is too slow it makes the pacing heavy. Despite the good performances, my personal MVP was Raul Julia, his role as Sandy Stern is incredible.
Another thing that disappointed me about Presumed Innocent was that the intrigue wasn’t as riveting and also not well implemented as it has been done in other courtroom drama films like Anatomy of a Murder, A Few Good Men and To Kill to Mockingbird, making it passable but not very memorable.
PD: I hope the limited series starring Jake Gyllenhaal that will be released this week is better, because that’s the only reason I saw this movie.
