My friend and his parents saw this film and hated it. I had the exact opposite reaction. I absolutely love this movie! The VVitch is a fantastic period piece about life during the Salem Witch trials. When watching the movie it's clear how much research and studying went into the project to make sure everything was done right.

Every shot of this film is a masterpiece. You could quite possibly pause the movie at any random point and be looking at a marvelous picture. The performances, the effort, everything. Everything is just done so well.

My only advice for this movie is to not look at the marketing. If you go into this expecting a terrifying movie about witches, as my friend and his parents did, and as the marketing suggests — you're probably going to be disappointed. But if you go in wanting to see a gorgeous period piece about life during the witch trials with an accurate accent and some wonderful horror elements, then you shouldn't be disappointed!
