The Lighthouse is interesting and original to say the least. Both Dafoe and Pattinson shine. Their chemistry is palpable and I was hooked whenever they shared the screen. The cinematography is stunning. I don't want to be cheesy, but every frame is a painting. I'm a sucker for great cinematography and this definitely got me. The story was hard to follow, especially with the thick accents, but by the end I understood what was going on. The film is littered with subtleties so I need to rewatch it to fully digest what Eggers was trying to say.
