Watching this right after The Book of Life was pretty funny, as the introduction to Coco makes it looks like Manolo abruptly bailed on his happy ending to devote himself entirely to music. Thankfully that isn't actually the case and this is actually a very moving film. I'll admit that I did guess the twists but that doesn't mean it's a bad story at all and there's plenty of insanely colourful images and some brilliant songs here as well. Watching someone playing guitar has never been so awe-inspiring when it's animated as well as this!
