First time seeing a movie on real IMAX since, well, The Dark Knight Rises. The Citywalk AMC might as well be called the Christopher Nolan Theater imo. Sad state of affairs to have a big movie like this come out with only like 20 theaters nationwide that can accommodate the exact specifications this movie is supposed to be shown, which made the Barbenheimer experience and getting a ticket to a decent seat very difficult….I wasn’t able to see this thing until almost two weeks in its run and this is for a sold out 4pm screening on a dang Tuesday. That’s good isn’t it!?!?
After revisiting a few of his movies recently I’m thinking this is my favorite Nolan for its emotional fire and dramatic spectacle in addition to the expectedly impressive technical aspects. Writing this nearly two weeks later and two things I remember most is how stellar and compelling the editing of the very talky third act is and how hard I laughed when a car pulled out of the way revealing Einstein in the shadows.
