Morbid curiosity is what is taking me to watch Wesley Wang’s body of work, which is maligned today to the point of viewers making the logical fallacy of assuming things about him, and him alone. One of the favorite sports of today’s generation is appropriation and being “SJW” while attacking others... The contradiction of the century indeed.

This is appallingly made. The concept of an “influencer” (ughhh) being driven to insanity due to her low view count is completely imbecilic, and this is the motor that moves the entire machinery. You knit online, woman! I had my beloved grandmother for that (she loved doing it, RIP). Personally, I play extremely difficult and rare, unknown fangames infamous for how much you have to grind them and their low production value: for sure, I'm not expecting dozens of viewers if a 3-hour stream is trying to beat a single screen. One challenge took me 52 hours, which I streamed entirely for proof that I actually did it.

It doesn’t play well as a social commentary on media consumption, because that catalyst is an excuse. For God’s sake, people are finding this because of Tik Tok! The “#1 guy” theorizing that the death threat messages are a result of “an obsessed fan that loves him” is beyond dumb. Once that they know it “might be an actual bastard” trying to kill them, they go search for him!!

I wish I could say this is a parody of horror clichés, but this short means serious business!!

The ending, which you must (not) witness by yourself is straight insulting. It’s not social commentary, it’s not tragedy, it’s not satire if I’m allowed to say it again: it’s low IQ thinking for an ending. You might actually laugh for unintended reasons.

At this pace, the day Wang makes good stuff is the day he understands that not capitalizing the first words of his titles and putting a punctuation mark at the end of them does not separate himself from the average moviemaking spectrum.

Positives? Well, decently shot. Editing is hideous, however.
