Edgar Cochran ✝️’s review published on Letterboxd:
I didn't think this film would explode, but it did (oh snap).
It's such a mess conceptually and on script, but works wonders due to an unexpected chemistry. The makers are an inch away from approaching an extremely dark take on adolescence and drug addiction, rated NC-17. Seen from many angles, this film is quite bold in what it says about these topics, grabbing the typical formula of the 80s about teaming two unequal individuals and making them a... covalent bond. Exceptionally unfunny at some parts and hilarious at others, this is a mess with many surprises stored and they come up unintentionally, ranging from dumb Peter Segal to surreal Terry Gilliam.
Worth a watch because it is a mess meant to be structured, and that is more funny than the film itself.
58/100
P.S. Can't believe they took a shot at Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) but not Robocop (1987) during the climax.
