So I am just done watching Oppenheimer and Holy Fuck dude…Oppenheimer is a fucking experience. I was legitimately shook by my idol Christopher Nolan. Christopher Nolan is my favorite director ever. His movies, especially his best ones always change the way I look at the world and probably change my brain chemistry. Let’s get to the pros! SPOILERS AHEAD!
Cillian Murphy was fucking incredible as J. Robert Oppenheimer. His fucking eyes dude. He looks like he’s in pain and secretly suffering. His thinking scenes were so visually stunning. He is such a complex man and has his issues. But by the end I did end up feeling real bad for the guy. America and his “Friends” has failed him so much. The Atoms exploding and colliding were so cool. Nolan’s Direction is probably the best it’s ever been. I was legitimately tensed up by most of the movie. I did not feel the pacing at all. All the Courtroom Stuff was just as investing as getting a nuclear bomb out end World War II. Jason Clarke was a surprise for sure. His screaming scene with Oppenheimer was legitimately intense and intriguing. Robert Downey Jr. as Straus was fucking incredible as well. He should get nominated and win Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars next year. This is no Tony Stark Role at all and I just see Straus. This conniving and smart bastard. The Los Alamos Scenes were pretty exciting and interesting. They surprisingly explain physics pretty well and I understood it. I am so happy to report all of the dialogue sound perfect. Tenet had dialogue sometimes that was legitimately hard to decipher unless you’re reading subtitles. Here I understood it completely and I’m glad Nolan listened to the criticism. Healthy Criticism is always good guys. The Cameos were insane. Fucking Rodrick Devon Bostick is in this movie holy fucking shit. Rodrick Rules and he always will rule. Even Nolan sees that Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules is cinema! Josh Peck from Drake and Josh is in this movie and I knew it from the trailers, but he’s a welcome addition. The Cinematography by Hoyte van Hoytema is beautiful. This is definitely Nolan’s most visually stunning movie. A Nolan Movie never looked better. Tho I do miss Wally Pfister’s Natural Cinematography. Hoyte van Hoytema is incredible and brings more of a beauty quality to Nolan’s Movies. The Trinity Test Scenes was legitimately fucking intense. I would get excited to see a Bomb Test. But somehow I didn’t. I legit nervous and I started shaking a little bit when the countdown started to countdown. When 15 Seconds hit my heart was racing. When it finally hits. A Deafening Silence hits. I was amazed by the explosion and the people’s reaction. This is one of the greatest scenes in a movie ever. It was done so perfectly like the rest of the movie. Oppenheimer’s Speech to the citizens of Los Alamos starts out pretty tame and quickly turns into a horror scene and goddamn Nolan can do horror much better then most modern horror movies. I legit felt a little disturbed by some of the visuals. The Dead Body on the floor hasn't left my mind. That whole scene in general. The Ending fucking floored me dude. That final line is fucking chilling and it kinda broke me.
Overall, this is easily a cinematic masterpiece. What Christopher Nolan did with this movie legitimately changed something in me and made me more cautious and a bit uncomfortable that there are Nuclear Bombs just waiting to be unleashed into the world. This is a cautionary tale on what happens when you let the genie outta the bottle. It can never be put back in and we have to live with it. Nolan at his peak knows how to change your life forever. This is easily my favorite movie of the year. Top 2 Nolan Movie for me. And it’s easily One of the Greatest Movies of All Time!
