Expectations were through the roof for this one, and to be honest, it met most of them. Unlike the trailers, it’s actually pretty slow paced. There is some excellent direction here by Perkins. High octane in terms of shot sequences, giving little room to wiggle around in the dark casket this one puts you in.
Nicholas Cage not being apart of the marketing for most of this one was a great decision, imo. He delivers a chilling performance. Not a bad performance, though, even if Monroe’s character is a little under written.
Unsettling as fuck and not an enjoyable watch. But I’d recommend it for any horror fans. It does a lot for things very well.
