birthday film
What better way to start my birthday than to watch La La Land? Because i m miserable, i hate myself and i like suffering.
Watching this film is not enough anymore, i need it injected into my veins.
This cinematic masterpiece combines literally everything i love perfectly. The humour is top notch, the cinematography is breathtaking, the way Damien uses color theory is genius, the performances are spectacular, the music is gut wrenching in the best way possible, everything is perfect. The music is so gorgeous, i listen to the soundtrack of this film probably an unhealthyly amount.
The fucking moment Mia and Seb’s theme song or City of stars starts playing my eyes start watering immediately.
The performances are out of this world. What tf could i possibly say about Ryan Gosling that hasnt been said already? He s obviously my favorite actor. I think he s the most handsome, most talented, funniest man on earth. His comedic timing, his facial expressions, his acting, his singing, literally everything about him is a piece of art.
And i could say the same about Emily. I adore both of them separately, but when you combine the two something magical happens.
As hearthbreaking as this movie is, i wouldnt change a thing about it. It is so beautiful. It makes me feel every fucking emotion, it makes me cry (a lot), it makes me laugh, it makes me contemplate about my future, about my dreams, about my relationship and about life in general.
I highly doubt i ll ever watch anything else that makes me feel the way this film does.
And i will never forgive the Academy for not giving it an Oscar.
I dont even know what else to say, i m an emotional mess. I fcking love this movie but it makes me so unbelievably miserable. Cant wait to watch it again.
I feel like watching this movie around my birthday might start to become something of a tradition, becaue i like reflecting on how i m nowhere near where i want to be in life and realistically speaking i probably never will be. And what better time to think about this than the day you were born?
